About Me

Hi, I’m Raphael

I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember.
I never felt the pull towards photographing landscapes or buildings — what inspires me are emotions, fleeting glances, and those once-in-a-lifetime expressions that disappear in a heartbeat. There’s something truly magical about freezing a moment in time, knowing it can be relived again and again.

Growing up, I would pore over my family’s old photo albums — black and white images from the ’70s and ’80s. I’d see faces of relatives I never met, and moments from before I was even born. Some of those people are no longer with us, yet those photographs keep their presence alive. That experience taught me the value of preserving memories, and it’s what drives me today: to give others the same gift of remembrance and connection.

My style blends influences from different worlds. From cinema, I’ve learnt the importance of light, detail, and the movement within a frame — not the glossy, CGI-polished kind, but the sort of cinematic storytelling that feels honest and human. From editorial work, I take inspiration in composition, perspective, and elegance. But my deepest influence comes from family films — those grainy, heartfelt recordings of a dad filming his child’s first steps, or a family laughing together at the beach. Those moments, however simple, carry more weight than any blockbuster ever made. They are authentic, irreplaceable, and priceless. That’s what I strive to recreate in my work: films and photographs that feel real, true, and uniquely yours.

Throughout the process, I see myself as more than your photographer or filmmaker — I’m your hype guy. I’ll get to know you during the planning, so that by the time your wedding day arrives, we feel like old friends. That trust allows me to capture your genuine emotions without ever forcing you into awkward poses or moments that don’t feel like you. My clients often say working with me feels natural — and that’s because I care deeply about you, your comfort, and your story.

I believe wedding photography and film are among the most important investments you can make. Every moment lasts just a fraction of a second, and you want someone experienced enough to anticipate them, not learn on the job. Photos should do more than show you what happened — they should make you feel what it was like to be there. And films? Imagine being able to not just see, but hear your loved ones laughing, crying, hugging you — even decades later. To me, that’s the true magic of a wedding film: a time capsule that brings people and moments back to life.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me with my head in the clouds — literally. I love the night sky, astronomy, and sunsets, all of which remind me of how vast and beautiful life is. I’m also endlessly inspired by cinema — films like Interstellar, Blade Runner, Dune, or The Creator, where every frame feels like a work of art. I’m fascinated by how a lens choice or a shift in light can change an entire mood, and I bring that same attention to detail into my own work. Music is another passion of mine; for every emotion there’s a song, and for every moment there’s a soundtrack — how incredible is that?

Most of all, I love travelling and exploring life with my partner — my biggest supporter and favourite person to share the world with. Together we seek out new experiences, exchange ideas, and see life through each other’s perspectives.

For me, photography and film are not just about creating images; they’re about creating a legacy. Your wedding is more than an event —

it’s your story, and it deserves
